Our Antiracism Process began in the context of a faith-based organization, Mennonite Central Committee, and was originally branded as “The Damascus Road Anti-Racism Process.” This was in reference to the story in the Book of Acts of Saul/Paul having his eyes opened while he was on the road heading toward Damascus.
Because Roots of Justice works beyond the Christian faith community, we have removed the “Damascus Road” branding from our workshops. The process and analysis remain essentially the same, though we strive to keep it current and fresh. Roots of Justice still offers faith-based content for Christian contexts, along with a secular version for broader communities.
